If I remember correctly, my father took care of our household twice, and both times it was because my mother was sick in the hospital for few days. Both times it was a family trauma (thank God that’s not related to my mother’s health) and we gained variegated knowledge. For instance we found out that there was no house elf who took out the garbage and that we had to do that on our own. And guess what… the toilet paper doesn’t magically reappear. I know you won’t believe but it’s true! One must put a new one when the old toilet paper roll runs out. These, and many other well kept family secrets, were revealed to us those two times that three men (my father and his two boys) had to keep tolerable living standards in our house. Maybe you are wondering what these have to do with Noikokyros by Lena Merika. Trust me, these two are directly related!
First of all the protagonists of the book live a similar experience. Secondly when I read the book I recalled those two times I ‘ve mentioned above. Before I give you a small taste of “The Greek housedad’s sweetie“, this wonderful book by Lena Merika, let me tell you that it was published in Greek by Kedros Publications in 2003 and it was published in English by Amazon in 2012.

Lena Merika take us with her pen in a modern Greek family. Dad, mom and three kids. Everything seemed to be perfect till father loses his job and had to stay at home. He couldn’t stay all day doing nothing, so he started taking care of the household and from an agronomist he became a… housedad! Many funny situations occur and… oh! You ‘ll read the rest on the book.
I don’t think I need to tell you if I liked that book. The writing style and Lena’s humor are, as always, excellent, and her books are interesting, cool, enjoyable and full of messages. “The Greek housedad’s sweetie” couldn’t be an exception. All the members of the family should read it, kids and adults alike. Perhaps in the book pages you ‘ll find some similarities with your own home. I certainly did. Happy reading!
